Description
This course covers piping systems design, materials of construction, operation, maintenance, inspection and integrity assessment. Piping system codes and standards like ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, API 570 and API 574 will be discussed.
Objective
This course is designed to provide participants with concepts and understanding in the fundamentals of piping systems in the Oil and Gas Industry (as well as other industries).
Target Audience
Mechanical Engineers, Plant Engineers, Process Engineers, Inspectors, EITs, Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Production Engineers, Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians
After you attend this course/workshop, you will be able to:
- Have general overview of codes and standards relating to piping system
- Perform pipe systems design including wall thickness calculations
- Understand pipe corrosion control strategies including coating and cathodic protection
- Be able to implement pipe inspection and maintenance strategy
- Understand the requirements and limitations for specialized piping repair methods like hot tap, freeze plug, engineered pressure enclosures (EPEs), stopples, etc
- Perform piping integrity and level 1/level 2 fitness for service (FFS) calculations to make a run, repair or replace decision

Education @ Your Desk. A Live Webinar Class means that you will attend the class via the web using your computer. There are scheduled breaks for coffee and lunch. You use a microphone, headset, or your phone and are able to interact with the instructor and other students while following notes while watching the presentation slides online just as you would in a live classroom. Notes are posted online. For an extra cost a hard copy can be requested.
The virtual classroom is becoming more and more popular, and we have a lot of experience teaching in this format. The only real difference between a live in-class and live via webinar is where you sit and what you look at. You can learn from the comfort of your own home or office. You pay less for the live webinar format than you would for the in-class format, and you do not have to travel to another city to attend the class.
