Deep Foundations Settlement Analysis (Single & Group Piles) (0.2 CEUs / 2 PDHs) (2 hr Webinar)

Course Code: CVL046
Date: 20 Sep - 20 Sep 2021
Location:

Education @ Your Desk. A Live Webinar Class means that you will attend the class via the web using your computer. There are scheduled breaks for coffee and lunch. You use a microphone, headset, or your phone and are able to interact with the instructor and other students while following notes while watching the presentation slides online just as you would in a live classroom. Notes are posted online. For an extra cost a hard copy can be requested.

The virtual classroom is becoming more and more popular, and we have a lot of experience teaching in this format. The only real difference between a live in-class and live via webinar is where you sit and what you look at. You can learn from the comfort of your own home or office. You pay less for the live webinar format than you would for the in-class format, and you do not have to travel to another city to attend the class. Please contact us at [email protected] for Special Group & Corporate Rates for one or more participants.

A certificate of completed Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be granted at the end of this course. Continuing Education Unit (CEU)

This Webinar is scheduled to begin@12pm MST (2pm EST) for 2 hours.

Note: If you register and are unable to attend, access to a recording of the session will be provided. There is a no cancellation policy.

Description
Settlement analysis is one of the important requirements when it comes to design of both of shallow and deep foundations of structures, tanks, bridges. etc. This course is focusing on discussing the importance of the settlement analysis and also presents selected practical methods that can be used in performing settlement analysis (i.e., elastic settlement & consolidation settlement). The course will focus on settlement analysis methods used for deep foundations (i.e., single & group piles).

Objective
The objective of this course is to provide the participants with an opportunity to gain comprehensive understanding of the practical deep foundations settlement analysis methods and how to apply them in day-to-day engineering practice easily.

Target Audience
This course is intended for practicing civil engineers at different stages in their careers, civil engineering students and graduates, and engineering technologist who are interested in understanding the concept of deep foundation settlement analysis and the practical foundation settlement analysis methods that can be applied in calculating settlements of real foundation engineering problems scenarios. Some familiarization with soil mechanics is desirable but the knowledge is not required at a specialist level.

After you attend this course/workshop, you will be able to:
  • Understand the fundamentals of foundations design,
  • Recognize the importance of settlement & analysis and consideration in the design process,
  • Use practical methods of foundation settlement analysis (immediate/elastic and long-term/consolidation settlement),
  • Perform foundation settlement analysis, and
  • Work on provided (solved) examples.
