Description
Energy Management, through energy conservation and energy cost control, played a very important role in the reduction of oil imports and in the increased energy efficiency of our buildings and our facilities. The economic downturn is forcing renewed emphasis on efficiency. In Canada, the commercial sector alone accounts for approximately one third of all energy consumed. Unfortunately, many facility managers are not exploring energy savings opportunities because of the perception that upfront costs are too high. Despite the impressive gains, which have been made, many opportunities still exist for increasing the energy efficiency and savings.
At this unique workshop you will understand the importance of energy management to your operation and how to cut energy cost. Techniques related to selection and choosing energy efficient equipment and systems will be discussed. Tips for buying a variety of energy efficient equipment will be presented. Opportunities to develop your skills to select economical and practical solutions that are environmentally and socially acceptable will be discussed. This course also provides a pragmatic approach to energy audits. Participants will acquire the skills to conduct a facility or operation specific energy audit. The course covers the practices of energy auditing and documentation using workshops, discussions and case studies.
