The NPPE – National Professional Practice Exam Preparation Course is a seminar that GIC offers four times a year This is preparation course for the mandatory professionalism, ethics and law exam that all engineers are required to pass in order to become a professional engineer. GIC offers 2 variations of this course, a 2 day or 3 day course. The 2 day course is more condensed, faster paced, and is more geared towards people whom are already engineers. The 3 day course is more spread out, allocates more time for questions, and is geared towards technicians and technologists. This course is very highly rated and is only offered in Edmonton and Calgary at the moment. The NPPE exam is closed-book, with a 2 hour time limit to complete 100 multiple-choice questions. (In May 2013 a new syllabus was released for the exam, so previous course materials are no longer applicable.)
