Description
This course is designed for centrifugal pump manufacturers, third party inspectors and end users of rotodynamic pumps in general industry, power plants, water supply, wastewater pumping – that is, users of pumps and pumping systems across the board. This course covers hydraulic performance acceptance test requirements and acceptance criteria for rotodynamic pumps. It explains the contents of the ANSI/HI Standard 14.6 and ISO 9906, intended for pump acceptance testing at pump manufacturers test facilities. These standards are applicable to all types of pumps using any pumping liquid which behaves like clean, cold water.

Objective
The participants will be able to understand the requirements of ANSI/HI standard 14.6 and ISO standard 9906. They will be able to decide which of the test conditions/ parameter should be specified for a given application. The participants will be able to judge if the requirements of the testing standards are met in the test layout, grant waivers or accept or reject non-conformities recorded in the testing process and review the testing results and shall be able to decide acceptance based on the guidelines given in the standards.

Level of Course
This is an intermediate level course and covers the rules and procedures applicable for hydraulic performance testing of rotodynamic pumps according to guidelines given in ANSI/HI standard 14.6 and ISO standard 9906. The participants should have a general awareness related to pumps and pumping systems, the performance testing concept, and measurement principles. The course includes exercises and calculations, and as such this course is suitable for engineers and managers and technical professionals having field experience and good engineering background.
