Description

All rotating machines vibrate. Vibrations below a certain threshold are tolerable and do not impair the life or working of the machine. Vibration limits presented in different standards and in industry norms, are ascertained through experience, industry feedback and sample data collected and collated overtime. These limits determine a safe upper threshold and are used in the standards. Similarly sudden increase in vibrations over the baseline, even if within the specified limits are a cause of concern and need careful watch and investigation / analysis at times.

In this session we will discuss the different condition monitoring techniques, the role of vibration measurement as a pivotal Condition Monitoring tool and the decision criteria and trending.
